Summer was born October 30, 2002 in Carroll County, Maryland to Dave and Gwen Ruskey.  She has a younger sister, Autumn.  During her spare time Summer enjoys reading, drawing, photography, shopping and spending time with friends.

 

Summer is a 10th grade student and attends Francis Scott Key High School (Carroll County Public Schools) in Union Bridge, Maryland.  She excels in academics and steps up to the challenges of her Advanced Placement and Honors courses.  Summer has been elected into the National Honors Society; an honor based on GPA, leadership, service & character qualities.  She is well liked by her teachers and fellow students.  Summer enjoys supporting her school by attending games and other school sponsored activities.

 

Summer is a Level 10 gymnast at Hanover Gymnastics in Hanover, Pennsylvania.  She is coached by Minyoung Kwon who came to Hanover Gymnastics from Iowa State University where he was an assistant coach.    

 

Summer's favorite thing about gymnastics is trying new skills, team sleepovers and going out to eat with her teammates after competitions.  She has set a goal of competing a double layout on floor.  Summer hopes to join a Division 1 college gymnastics team and to be a part of something special.
